Since 2008, we have led the effort to foster and maintain the principles of Teamwork, Character, and Leadership within Loudoun’s baseball players.

Our Story

Retired Air Force Master Sergeant, and current American Legion Department of Virginia Baseball Chairman, Jim Grenier, brought Legion Baseball back to Loudoun County in the Summer of 2008. After serving the broader high school community in Loudoun, the program split in 2010 establishing teams in both Leesburg and Ashburn. Currently, the Rangers serve Leesburg and Purcellville, exclusively recruiting its 19U squad from Loudoun Valley, Woodgrove, Loudoun Co. and Tuscarora High Schools. In conjunction with the mission statement of American Legion Baseball, the Ranger Way is based on the principles of Teamwork,  Character, and Leadership. The meaning behind earning a Ranger uniform extends beyond the foul lines. Players and staff are expected to hold themselves with the highest degree of respect, dignity, and sportsmanship in the dugout, classroom, and community. More importantly, our uniform represents the sacrifice and service made by generations of Loudoun's men and women in the United States Armed Forces.

“We told them they had to play full-circle baseball to win this championship,” “They bought into it, they believed in themselves, they believed in the program, and here’s the result.”
— Daniel Gershen, General Manager, 2016 Regional Championship
